David recalls: “Pierce was under contract to an American TV company for Remington Steele, and was wanted for the role of James Bond after Roger Moore. There was talk of him either breaking the TV contract or being bought out of it to play Bond. When he was in London doing some filming I photographed him in this pose, bearing in mind that if and when it was announced that he was to step into Roger’s shoes, this was the picture to go with the story. What is most incredible is that this shot was taken 18 years ago and the man hasn’t changed. Must be the luck of the Irish.”
Biography: Irish actor legendary for his role as the suave and sexy detective James Bond. Brosnan decided to try acting after watching the Bond movie Goldfinger in 1964. Although he is consistently cast in the role of the debonair man of action – Dante’s Peak (1997) for example – he has shown his versatility time and again in the likes of Mrs Doubtfire (1993), Mars Attacks! (1996) and The Tailor of Panama (2001). Like his Bond predecessors, he frequently appears in ‘world’s most sexy’ votes but has said, ‘I don’t see myself as “Hunk of the Month”.
