Description

David Steen recalls: “Nureyev was to star in Valentino and Bob Chartoff, the producer, asked me to spend time with him building up a portfolio. We were driving from his hotel to dance studios in Cromwell Road when this shot was taken, and I thought, here’s a man who has defected from Communist Russia and is now in the back of a limousine reading The Times.”
