David Steen rcalls: “Harrison was very shy and he gave the impression he would rather be doing something other than posing for a photograph.”
Location: London, England
Year: 1977
Biography: Born in Chicago in 1942, American actor Ford shot to fame as Han Solo in the 1977 film Star Wars. His status as an action hero was cemented by his role in Indiana Jones, the adventure hero of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). But unlike some actors who get stuck in roles as ‘action heroes’, Ford has proved his worth as an actor in any genre. From a reluctant student at college in Wisconsin, Ford was signed to Columbia and afterwards Universal Studios. For a while he became disillusioned with acting and became a carpenter. He is now one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. His second wife, Melissa Mathison, wrote the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s children’s fantasy film E.T. (1982).
